Windows 95 on iPhone
On September - 1 - 2009
If you fancy radically changing the OS on your iPhone you can now consider loading Windows 95 onto it. However you will need the jail broken iPhone and a little technical know-how as this app isn’t available to download from Apple. Check out the video by the iSoft team after the break.

The hack uses a standard copy of Windows 95 and the Bochs emulator. As you may expect the performance is not great but they are looking to develop a hack for Windows XP which I’m sure will do wonders for the performance.

Soundwave, the underwater MP3 player
On July - 23 - 2009
Those who are irremediably in love with their iPods or MP3 players, please raise their hands! Ok, there are many hands in the air, maybe more than I would have expected, but let me break a bad news to all of you out there: if you want to take your tunes swimming, scuba-diving, water-skiing or any other aqua sport, you won’t be able to take your device with you, because your precious iPod might instantly drown. So you’d better find something that is submersible so that you can swim with music in your ears. Literally.

Fortunately, the Soundwave from Freestyle Audio has you covered, as it is an MP3 player that can go underwater for about 10 feet. It is also shock-resistant, yet is lightweight enough to float in water. Freestyle Audio’s rugged and durable MP3 player redefines portable music. The world’s only waterproof and shockproof MP3 player is designed to fuel an active lifestyle, no matter the activity, intensity or destination. Wherever life may take you, the device allows you to bring your favorite music along for the ride.
This underwater MP3 player may not look as trendy or sophisticated as an iPod, but it’s durable and hearty. Its blue hard plastic shell with black rubbery buttons and grip is perfect for any outdoorsy adventurer. More than that, it can be used with supplied sizeable waterproof earbuds, because what’s the use of such a device if you don’t have the right headphones?

The Soundwave supports MP3, WMA and protected WMA (DRM) files and holds and plays up to 320 songs; the MP3 files can easily be downloaded using the USB interface. In addition, the device is compatible with Subscription Music Services, features an OLED screen to display track details, a FM radio tuner with channel presets, equalizer presets, a built-in rechargeable battery. The battery makes the Soundwave capable of up to 18 hours of playtime per charge.
Compatible with both PCs and MACs and requiring Windows ME/2000/XP/98 or Mac OS 9.6 and above, Soundwave has 2GB of flash memory and it’s also functional as a storage device for files other than music.
The package includes the MP3 player, waterproof earbuds with adjustable ear-wraps and three separated sized ear-pieces, a USB cable for charging battery and loading music and the user guide. So, if you’re the “water music” type of guy, you might enjoy this underwater MP3 player which can be purchased from Freestyle Audio’s official website for $89.95.

World’s smallest USB Wireless-N Adapter
On July - 23 - 2009
It is called Mvix Nubbin and it is said to be the world’s smallest wireless-N adapter, being aimed at all sorts of not only portable devices, but also embedded ones.
“Mvix Nubbix is perfect accessory for high-speed Wireless networks, capable of delivering the range and capacity to support today’s most bandwidth-hungry applications, like streaming HD (High Definition) video, voice and music. With its competitive price and comprehensive set of features, we expect this accessory to be well accepted by our customers”, said Mike Mallon, who is the Business Development Manager of the USA-based company Mvix. Now let’s talk a little bit about the features of this tiny device. It comes with a micro-footprint which has a protrusion smaller than 2 centimeters and delivers data at 150Mbps, compliance with IEEE 802.1n draft 3.0 and IEEE 802.1b/g, support for WMM and WMM-PS (IEEE 802.1e QoS Standard), innovative WPS (which is Wireless Protected Setup), auto-builds connection, synchronizes settings, compatibility with several operating systems such as Microsoft Windows XP / Vista, Mac OS X and Linux.
The Wireless-N is in fact a mixture between several technologies that are present right now in the market, and I’m talking about the Multiple Input, Multiple Output, also known as MIMO, which does something like simultaneously transmitting and receiving by using multiple radios. And why does it do this? Well, in order “to maximize wireless networking performance”.
The Nubbix is able to adapt to a standard USB 2.0 port and, in addition, it is able to connect in a wireless way to a router. It is also provided with a backward compatibility and interoperability with 802.11b/g devices. The Brass Cross USB Drive
On July - 22 - 2009
More than that, I’m sure that some of you would find it a good looking gift for your best friends. It’s just that this weird device is aimed at Christians and at Christians only, because the ancient symbol of the humanity is used in this religion as a fundamental sign.
Still, it’s a good thing that the USB drive isn’t entirely covered with all sorts of diamonds and other bright and shiny little precious stones. The designers decided to adorn this piece of technology with just a couple of crystals and to give it an antique brass look.
The main advantage of the Brass Cross USB Flash Drive is that, compared to any other similar devices that have small amounts of storage, this one comes with 8 GB, which is pretty impressive. In this given context, you will have to deal with the bad looks of this wearable Cross and have it hang around your neck with the adequate pride. This means you will have to make up your mind between looks and functionality.
The Brass Cross USB Flash Drive works with Windows, Mac and Linux and it’s compatible with systems like Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 / XP / Vista, Mac OS 10.x or future versions, Linux 2.4.2 or newer. Supporting a wide variety of files formats that can be stored on the Cross, the chain has a universal size that is of 28 inches.
